Terese Longva is based at Skuløy in Møre og Romsdal, Norway. Her work explores social subjectivity as rooted in contemporary society, resulting from an emergent interplay between human bodies and diverse networks in the environment. Longva is invested in creation processes in both matter and society, and often uses conversation as a method of development in her practice. The resulting ideological “third” originates not from any individual, but as a becoming in-between social and material processes.

Since 2010, she has collaborated with Laurel Jay Carpenter (USA / UK) in the duo Longva+Carpenter, and since 2012 with Harald Dyrkorn. Longva has exhibited and participated in a series of galleries and festivals in Norway and abroad. Longva is educated at New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University (BFA, Philosophy Minor, Art History Minor) and Bergen Academy of Art and Design (MA).
